Chop and Slaughter is a cartoonish real-time strategy game built in Unreal Engine 5. Players manage a lumber camp besieged by relentless waves of elves, balancing resource gathering and combat survival. Success depends on harvesting both wood and fallen elf meat, converting resources into new soldiers, and sending shipments of lumber for gold with each shipment triggering new enemy assaults. As the camp grows, so too does the scale of elvish retaliation, pushing the player to upgrade units and fortifications while fending off increasingly overwhelming odds. With no ultimate escape, the goal is to endure as long as possible and secure the highest score before inevitable defeat.

On Chop and Slaughter, I led the team while also diving deeply into Unreal Engine 5 development, this was my first project with the engine. I implemented unit movement, designed and built the logic for unit selection, unit production, and created the UI/UX layout and functionality to support player interactions. I used procedural content generation (PCG) to develop the level layout over making it by hand. My work combined leadership with system design, tying together resource management and combat wave flow into a cohesive strategy experience.
