Moon's Over My Hammy
Cooking Game
2024 - 2025 Capstone Game
Moon’s Over My Hammy is a comedic yet challenging cooking game developed in Unreal Engine 5 as an educational capstone project (2024–2025). Players manage a cosmic diner under crushing debt, serving an endless stream of eccentric customers. The core gameplay centers on preparing three distinct dishes, upgrading and repairing stations, and adapting to random daily events that alter customer flow and demands. Each day pushes players closer to the diner’s fate, with victory achieved only if the debt is fully paid by day 7. Blending resource management, time pressure, and narrative humor, the game delivers both tension and charm.

On Moon’s Over My Hammy I served as producer and systems designer on the game, leading both the creative vision and team coordination. I handled all project management duties, including marketing, fundraising via GoFundMe, establishing an LLC, managing our Trello board, and running weekly meetings. I directed design decisions across gameplay, narrative, and player experience, while also implementing key technical systems such as the save/load functionality, the day-night cycle, time cycles, and player movement. Additionally, I developed the game’s UX for system menus like settings, created the level/world design, and handled all audio implementation. A pivotal moment came mid-development when the project began to fail under scope creep; I led the decision to scrap nearly 90% of existing work, refocus on the core cooking mechanic, and rebuild the game within a few months, ultimately guiding the team to a finished product.
